2024-9-14 GB monthly update: maps, temporary slowdowns

so progress is still being made on this, and with my side projects needing to be temporarily mothballed, it's now the main focus again.
that said, there's gonna be a lot of slow down this month for the following reasons

1. I've been asked to do some artwork for someone else's game and as it's not something I'm familiar with doing, it's gonna take more time than usual

2. My living situations is getting a bit messy with me having a major falling out with my landlord, so I gotta now balance this against me needing to find a new place to live, preferably with people who can actually tolerate my existence for once

3. this year has been rough, for everyone, and artists in particular have been heavily impacted due to sight bans, closures, society's disdain and hatred for what we do, sites like fa having an uncertain future and the advent of AI just making things 100 times more complicated. A lot of artists been having major emotional meltdowns behind the scenes and I'm not far off from one myself.
tbc I'm not taking a break, but having to fight off a steady stream of 'dangerous' thoughts, even with my meds, is enough to slow down productivity

now this isn't me saying that there's a going to be a delay or anything, just clarifying that this month is going to be slow and there's not much I can do about it without outside help
